Description
Hybrid phone-and-Zoom work by Performance Interface Lab. Per No Proscenium's review, the first 15-20 minutes are a phone call with creator Pete Danelski, who "guides me through a series of activities I do alone at home"; the concluding portion moves to Zoom to meet another participant. The solo activities generate "kind words and thoughts I'll share with Francis on Zoom later." Pre-experience instructions ask participants to have a pen and paper nearby.

On the medium. Phone leg with Danelski, then a Zoom leg with another participant.
PART PHONE, PART ZOOM. Participation is the entire mechanism — the seeded 'n' for C10 was wrong.
Anatomy
Thirteen criteria after Lauren R. Beck. Each carries a source grade: M maker-confirmed, P published, F first-hand, I inferred by the compiler, ? not yet established. Definitions are on the anatomy page.
- Participants listen through headphonesnoI
A phone leg then a Zoom leg; no headphone requirement is stated.
- Participants move through space as part of the workunknown?
The participant does “a series of activities…alone at home” and later joins Zoom, but nothing establishes that changing location is required.
Did you experience this? Tell us - Audio technology is necessaryyesI
Both legs are audio-mediated — a phone call and then Zoom — so removing the sound device ends the work.
- Site-, situation- or language-specificunknown?
The reviewer says the activities are done at home, but that is their session, not a stated requirement of the score.
Did you experience this? Tell us - Engages with the history of a sitenoI
Content is guided activities generating kind words and thoughts, with no reference to documented events of a real place.
- Created for an urban environmentnoI
Phone and Zoom delivery presuppose devices, not city density.
- Created as an artwork other than theaterunknown?
“Performance Interface Lab” suggests a research/interface framing but no non-theatrical discipline is claimed.
Did you experience this? Tell us - Intended to be understood as theaterunknown?
The available text uses “work,” “creator” and “participant” and no theatrical vocabulary, which is not enough to settle it.
Did you experience this? Tell us - Accidental real-world sights and sounds are importantunknown?
The pen-and-paper activities are supplied by the score and nothing says the participant’s surroundings feed the work.
Did you experience this? Tell us - Spectator must participateyesP
The participant is guided through activities they perform, then shares what they generated with another participant on Zoom.
- Has live performers other than the participantsyesP
The first 15–20 minutes are a live phone call with creator Pete Danelski, who guides the participant.
- Involves game playnoI
No rules, objective or resolution state are described.
- Uses props other than the listening deviceyesP
“Pre-experience instructions ask participants to have a pen and paper nearby,” used during the session.
