Voice as Intimate Architecture
This archive exists because of a piece of lived research conducted in the summer of 2026 for the Odyssey Works Experience Design Certificate Program: an attempt to find out what disembodied, mediated voice does to trust, intimacy and consent that no other medium replicates.
Thirteen practitioners were interviewed. 28 works were called into. Seventy works were cataloged, which turned out to be the whole visible field and then some. Along the way the research produced a category problem it could not ignore — the field had no taxonomy, and the one academic framework that already contained it had never been applied at scale. That is what this site is for. The research is the reason it exists, not its subject.
